Bridlespur Modern Retreat
A modern outdoor living space combining an expanded paver patio, 20×20 motorized louvered pergola, outdoor cooking, heating, entertainment and a dramatic 14-foot linear gas fire feature.
A Modern Outdoor Room Built for Cooking, Fire & Entertainment
This Bridlespur backyard brings together an expanded paver patio, outdoor cooking, a large motorized louvered pergola, heating, lighting, entertainment and an oversized linear fire feature.
At the center of the project is a 20×20-foot aluminum pergola with motorized louvers that allow the homeowners to adjust overhead light and ventilation.
A grill, outdoor refrigerator, heaters, fan, lighting and television setup make the covered space functional for entertaining, while a 14-foot linear gas fire pit creates a dramatic visual focal point.
Design the Backyard Around How People Will Actually Use It
When the patio, shade structure, cooking zone, heating, lighting, fire and entertainment are considered together, the result feels more like an intentional outdoor room than a collection of separate upgrades.
The defining feature of this project is flexibility. The homeowners can control shade and ventilation, add heat when temperatures fall, cook and entertain under cover, watch a game and gather around the fire—all within one connected backyard environment.
